Having shied away from the 'normal' types of romance stories, I decided to give 'Fearless' by Eve Carter one last chance to restore my faith in this genre.I am overjoyed to at last find an author who crafts her book so well that I was drawn into the story 'Like Alice in the looking glass', and thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Finally an author that I can 'follow' knowing that the storyline will be completely believable, well crafted, and will fulfill all my reading expectations. I find an author that fulfills all my needs in a particular genre, and then read every book that they write after that. If I could afford it, I would literally 'Eat Books' as my primary source of sustenance. With rhe advent of Amazon E-books, like a squirrel, I have stockpiled a number in my Kindle library and regretfully you will not hear from me until I have finished them.

Jesse and Niki, great love story. Jesse down on his luck, had an accident while racing ( which was what he was doing for a living),he hurt his hand, and leg, had surgery, and his hand was not the same. So he pretty much gave up,started picking up girls all the time, and got drunk to try and forget how messed up his life was. His brother Jimmy who is a cop told him he had enough of his craziness, and he needed a change, sent him to live with their uncle's in California, he was opening a bar and needed help. This book is so emotional I found myself in tears in some of the parts, and when Jesse learns about a secret when his bone marrow is tested, I was blown away. I felt sorry for his mom Emily, she has such a s***ty life, I was so happy when she got better.Loved Kat she was such an awesome best friend. This is a great series I definitely recommend it you will love it. Eve Carter is amazing I love all her books, she never disappoints.
I loved how the characters evolved. Just when Jesse can't take anymore shit he is swimming in it and it just keeps dumping on him. Niki see's it, feels it, and is his air to breath while drowning in so much crap, while fighting her demons of his impending leaving her for the true love of his life his motocross. Throw in an overbearing father character and oh yeah it's on for young and old. I love it but Niki did piss me off if she was so determined to be out from her father GET A JOB. Niki is not one of my favorite characters i kind of lost a little respect for her but i still loved the book and i'm looking forward to see if she grows up anymore. Yeah ok she made a grand gesture for Jesse but i also seen the selfish side of it too so i'm looking forward to see where the book goes next. Jesse on the other hand you could feel him grow up and i think he's done a great job with Niki's help but also because it was in him all along. Well i haven't read the book that he is in before this series but that's what i get out of this series. He has worked hard for what he wants but Niki hasn't she has had a lot of hell to work through but she is still not my favorite person
Jesse & Niki continue on their journey together. She is a strong influence on him & his behavior, he wants to be a better person, make better life choices for her. Niki 'grounds' him with purpose. He continues to work hard helping out with his uncle's business, also working hard in a therapy program for his hand & leg to regain the strength he needs for racing..... Niki meanwhile is learning to assert herself & what she wants/needs in her life....she is facing up to the things that are vital to her well-being. There are so many changes in the lives of people Jesse loves, all for the better, secrets revealed & healing of old hurts.... Niki's dad issues her an ultimatum, what choices will she make?..... Jesse's racing team has offered him a position back on the team.... The couple openly declare their love & take control over their own choices & lives!!!
Recommended reading...waiting for the next story.
Alright, so book 2 leaves off where book 1 left off. Only we get to see a little of Emily(Jesse's moms story) Now we understand the whole Kenny thing. I mean Frank was a a-hole. Later on we learn some secrets Emily was keeping, as a mother, who wouldn't do that to protect their children. I only hope her and Kenny can be happy now. For some reason I just don't love this series, I think this one was better than the first and the author did a very good job and I didn't see any errors like the first book, so job well done! Lots more goes on in this book, I enjoyed it a bit more. But I also felt it lacked in a lot of ways. I wanted to know more about Kenny and his treatment, the surgery I think we should of seen a little bit more on that, well I would of liked to read about that. I wanted a little bit more drama, I felt the entire book something BIG was going to happen and it never came. Niki, I am glad she finally stood up to her father, LOVED that scene! GO NIKI!!And I am very proud of Jesse and the man he has become!
I do love Jesse and Chase, those two are pretty funny. Also would of liked to see a bit more with his mom. And I thought Niki was supposed to meet his friends, kind of wanted to see that. All in all it was far better than the first and I did enjoy it, it just doesn't scream amazing and must read. But I enjoyed them. I like the whole motor cross thing though, haven't read that before. I hope Jesse and Niki have a wonderful life!
